A Note from Beth: Our DCRE asks that if you use a room for a meeting or have your children playing in a room while you are in the building, to please double check these rooms before you leave to make sure they are as you found them. She has been repeatedly finding the rooms with food plates, coffee cups, toys, and various supplies scattered thru the rooms, which she has to spend time on correcting.  It makes it difficult for our teachers to have an effective class if they are searching for a chalice to light or other items needed during a lesson.  Thank you for your understanding and help in this matter.  If you have any questions please contact Beth Havlik, This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Peace Camp: Registration for Peace Camp is now open. Our first deadline for early registration is May 31st, the registration fee goes up after this date, don't wait! Paperwork can be found in the green room on the file cabinet. See Beth Havlik for more information. Our first fundraiser is May 19th, sign up sheet is in the green room. If your children plan to attend camp, this is a great way to raise money to help you with the registration fee. Only those who work a fundraiser will earn money towards camp.

In Gratitude: To Judy Webber, who planted the daffodils that are now blooming beautifully, even though we parked on top of them last fall. Thank you Judy!

Intro to UU: We will be holding a class from 10AM-2PM on Saturday, April 27. It is not too late to attend! Contact This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to register.

Right Relations: Workshop on "Living in Right Relationship," Saturday, May 4th, at CUUB, 1 to 3 pm -- RSVP needed.

It has been said that conflict is inevitable but violence is not. If you believe that any work toward peace in the world begins with each individual and his/her myriad relationships, then you will agree that learning and practicing the skills of compassionate communication, or Nonviolent Communication, in our interactions with others may be the best hope for our planet. Join us for an introductory "one taste" experience, and commit to the acquisition and practice of the skills essential to peace making. Christina Cusumano is our workshop leader. RSVP needed so we can plan appropriately. Space is limited but still still available! RSVP to This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

Coming Soon: "Ecology is the New theology" will be the sermon title by the Reverend Michael Dowd when he and his wife conduct the service at CUUB on May 12th. Michael is the author of the best-selling bridge-building book, "Thank God for Evolution", endorsed by six Nobel Laureates and other science luminaries, along with noted skeptics and by religious leaders across the spectrum. In this Sunday service he will explore why climate change is a deeply moral concern.

Michael Dowd and his wife, science writer Connie Barlow have been called America's evolutionary evangelists. Since 2002 they have lived entirely on the road visiting churches, colleges, and other institutions across the USA. We are so fortunate that Brighton is in their travels. This is a service not to be missed.

"Evolutionize Your Life: Coming Home to Reality" is the topic for the community-wide multi-media presentation that Michael and Connie will give at CUUB on Tuesday, May 14th, at 7pm. Come learn how our modern understanding of this 14-billion-year-old universe, as given by mainstream science, builds bridges, provides guidance, and restores realistic hope for families, for humanity, and for the body of life as a whole. Closer to the date you will receive an email to forward to your friends and acquaintances.
