May 4th Rev. Karen J. McFarland, Interim Minister
~ Team Building ~
This will not be a sermon about baseball, but about building a successful, forward looking, vision and mission focused CUUB team. Teamwork is how we build the Beloved Community of Unitarian Universalism. What are the hallmarks of a successful team?
May 10 UU ministerial candidate Jim Moir
~ Wile E. Coyote, My Minor Deity ~
Jim always enjoyed the Coyote stories told by our Native American neighbors, but he realized that the Coyote was a part of their culture and heritage. The cartoon coyote also stars in enjoyable stories and may be a better match with our life in a modern, western culture. In addition to making a case for Wile E.’s divine qualities, Jim will also discuss why coyotes in nature are such attractive models for spiritual beings.
Jim Moir has completed three years at Meadville Lombard Theological School and is preparing for his church internship. He is a lifelong UU who attended 1st Unitarian in Detroit as a child. Jim recently lost his wife Robin to cancer. He is working as a Youth Librarian in Dearborn Heights until he can resume his education.

~ Volunteer Recognition – The Work That Gives Us Meaning ~
What would CUUB be without all our loving hands? Our church is one large co-op and it takes every one of us to make it work. Today we will honor all those who do the work of our church.
